Writing in the sand

To develop the fine motor skills for the Kindergarteners, "writing in the sand" activity has been conducted on 9th December 2023.  After a story session we have started making the students to write alpha numeric in the sand.

"Writing in the sand" at the beach might seem like just a bit of fun, but it also has a number of developmental benefits like helping the children to develop the skills and confidence to form the connecting lines and curves, as well as the vertical, horizontal and zig-zag lines that form the basis of letters.

Sand  play for toddlers has many surprising benefits for development, such as enhancing motor skills, social and emotional awareness, improving language and speech, sparking creativity .

Sand play helps with emotional development and socialization in children as well. In the sandpit, kids learn collaboration skills as they dig, carry, and move sand with other children and educators. They learn to wait patiently and take turns with the sand play materials we have on hand.

Children's day event conducted at Gurukulam on 14th November 2023.

The Children's day celebration aims to raise awareness about children's rights and the challenges they face globally, such as poverty, lack of access to education, healthcare, and child labor. We organize special events, competitions, and activities to make learning a joyful experience for children.

To be able to distinguish between rights, needs and wants. To make a personal connection with the Convention On the Rights of the Child. To empathies with some of the issues facing children around the world and be prepared to speak up or take action on behalf of all children.

KG kids had a colorful celebration and they were singing and dancing with our Trustee Sabita, that was a great moment for them to see the happiness in their face. School organised a small gift and toffee for the small kids.

On this day we organised a special drawing competition in collaboration with MMRT,  students right from Grade I - XII actively participated during the same. It was a  memorable competition, the theme they have given to students was - " Me in 10 years from now" , organising such events among them have taken them to dream a desire,  what they want to be. The   organisers appreciated our students, the way they presented the drawing with their future goal and the celebration was an excellent way to foster a sense of joy, camaraderie, and learning among them.

Prize winners have collected their prizes from the organisers.

Identify the Palm

Why Is It Important to know about Left And Right? This helps the children navigate their environment. Knowing left and right can help children understand their surroundings and find their way around. Essential for communication: Left and right are commonly used words to give directions or describe the location of objects.

Hands-on activities helps children to strengthen the muscles of the hand, improve accuracy, and learn functional skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.

Learning laterality and directionality are foundational skills in being able to learn the difference between letters, numbers and words. Learning left from right and front from back are important for understanding how objects are rotated and how they relate to each other in space.

We start teaching this essential skill from the very beginning when they are in KG level.  Children enjoy the activity and learn the left and right happily.

Identify the alphabets

Identifying the alphabet activity conducted on 3rd November for our KG kids.

Identifying the letter is an important skill for children to develop their skills to form the word, because it forms the foundation for learning to read and write. When children are able to recognise the letters, they are able to start connecting them with the sounds they make, and this is essential for reading and spelling.

Children's knowledge of letter names and shapes is a strong predictor of their success in learning to read. Knowing letter names is strongly related to children's ability to remember the forms of written words and their ability to treat words as sequences of letters.

Alphabet games are a wonderful way to expose the child to more letters, both visually and verbally. Exercising both fine and gross motor skills and providing a wonderful opportunity for sensory play, the little one will love learning in a multitude of ways without even realizing it.

Act like an animal

                    13th Oct 2023

Act like an animal activity was conducted on 13th October for our KG kids.

Can you roar like a lion or bounce like a kangaroo? We go with this hilarious animal game for kids which helps them to develop their physical skills and supports speech and language development. Enhances strength and muscle tone, the bodyweight movement of Animal Flow involves using one's body weight as resistance for strength-training exercises, such as crawling, rolling, and jumping. this activity helps the kids to  build and strengthen their muscle tone, particularly in the core, arms, and legs.

We emphasis this activity for our kids to understand more about animals.
